1. The internet, via internet relay chat, on ICQ. Lara and Michael are both signed up as users. One
evening in August of 2002, Michael was hacking around on the computer, and came across Lara's profile, and the rest is history.
2. Lara has just landed a new job as a Law Clerk for St. Marys
Cement at their Canadian head office in Toronto. Michael
works for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as an EFP sound recordist, who records audio out in the field for
news stories, current affairs features and for shows like Hockeyville and Royal Canadian Air Farce.

4. A key grip is the head of the grip department for a film crew. The grip department
is responsible for camera mounting and securing, setting flag and netting stands, laying and leveling dolly tracks, pushing
the dolly during the shot, installing grid piping for lights and other overhead rigging. Grips can be likened to the
U.S. Army Corp Of Engineers for the film industry.

Another day at the office...

What a job!
Not a typical day on the job, but not an unusual one, either. Working
in television productions offers many wonderful and diverse experiences.

6. Lara is from Mississauga, and Michael is from Oshawa. After initially settling
in Mississauga, Lara and Michael have relocated to Oshawa.
7. Just two cats. Lara has a one-eyed seal-point Siamese named Phoebe. She is seven years old. Last year, Lara and Michael were adopted by a stray domestic long-haired cat, Smokey Bob.
8. Our first date in person was in September, 2002, about a month after first chatting on-line. We met at
a Starbucks, had coffee, and then we went minature golfing at the Putting Edge. Lara tried to let Michael win, but to
no avail.

10. May 9th, 2003, at Lara's home. The ring was picked out a week before.
11. Use fresh garlic, add diced or crushed tomatoes, drain the tomatoes before adding, and don't forget to take
the bay leaf out before serving.
12. Michael is 41, Lara is 39.
13. Folonari Valpolicella, or Cabarnet Shiraz. Rothschild Cabarnet Sauvignon is very nice (Lara's personal
favourite), as is Thierry and Guy's Shiraz, the name of which probably shouldn't be repeated in a family space.
14. Yes, Michael's arms do get tired from holding up the microphone boom all day.
15. The honeymoon was at the cottage owned by Michael's parents; sleeping, golfing, antique hunting, and watching
the rain fall.
16. The Keg if we're feeling upscale; The Muddy Duck if it's casual. If we're in Oshawa and we're really, really hungry, we'll head to Teddy's Restaraunt at Highway
2 and Park Road (sorry, no web page available.). However, we do stay in and cook a great deal. Both of us are
good cooks.
17. The light goes out when you close the refrigerator door.
18. We both knew pretty much right away that we were a good match, and nothing has come up to change that opinion.
19. Neither of us has been married before, nor do we have any children.
20. Yes, Lara's family is crazy about Michael, and Michael's family loves Lara.
21. Yes, Michael believes that synthetic motor oil is worth the extra money, especially in a high-mileage vehicle
like his.
22. Lara has earned a Bachelor's in Business Management from Ryerson University in Toronto. Michael has earned a General Bachelor of Arts from the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Windsor.
Michael's Hobbies and Interests:
Movies, golf, reading, working on the car, darts, trying to teach himself to play the guitar ('01 Fender Stratocaster
(Mexican, Midnight Blue)), cribbage, cooking, backgammon, renovating bathrooms, and The Stereo From Hell.
Lara's Hobbies and Interests:
Golf, cooking, the Toronto Blue Jays, piano, making gingerbread houses, Competent Toastmaster, crocheting, blackjack,
cribbage, billiards, darts, and teaming up with Dawn to clobber Michael and Mark at euchre.
